Júlio Dolbeth
Júlio Dolbeth holds a Ph.D. in Art and Design, specializing in illustration, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP). He earned a Master's degree in Multimedia Art from FBAUP and a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design from FFBAUP. He is an assistant professor at FBAUP. Co-founder and curator of the Dama Aflita gallery in Porto (2008 - 2015). As an artist and illustrator, he has regularly exhibited in solo and group shows. As an illustrator, he has collaborated with various publications, editorial projects, or other media, including Blue Design (PT), DIF (PT), Fabrico Próprio (PT), Inútil (PT), Jornal Público (PT), Parq (PT), WAD (FR), Computer Arts (UK), Próximo Futuro (Gulbenkian/PT), Slanted (DE), among others.
He likes to draw random faces, friends faces, some made-up faces, sometimes a lumberjack, sometimes a snow white lots of times until she comes perfect. Once and a while invented plants, most of the times a log, sometimes a skull trying to be proportional. Most of the drawings are in his head, many of them in his sketchbook, some of them are hanging on a wall, a few of them are published and part them are a collectable in some friend´s warehouse.
