Uma Joana
“Uma” (“A”, en.) because she always lived surrounded by other “Joanas”, and, since she still hasn’t found out how to be “The”, instead of “Another”, chose to keep it that way.
Studied Fine Arts (Painting), at Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, but is through illustration that she looks for meaning to everyday stuff. Has a lot more doubts that certainty about her body of work, although, through it all, there’s clear fascination about melancholy and longing - and, maybe because of it, every time she tries to be funny, she fails miserably.
