Ca_teter
Jorge Mato (ca_teter), Uruguay, 1977.
ca_teter is an illustrator and visual artist.
He graduated from the uruguayan Arts University with a Bachelor's degree in Plastic and Visual Arts in 2014. He has been working on illustration projects since 2004 and has exhibited his work regularly since 2009.
His book The Great Race was selected to be part of the White Ravens 2021 catalogue and winner of the Uruguay Literature Prize 2021, it was also part of the Bologna Ragazzi Prize catalogue of the Bologna Book Fair 2022. He was selected to be part of the 58th National Prize for Visual Arts of Uruguay in 2018 and the 51st Montevideo Prize for Visual Arts in 2023. He won the National Illustration Prize of Uruguay in 2018 and in 2023.
He was also a finalist in the Illustration Exhibition of the Bologna Book Fair 2022 and 2023, and was a member of the Iberoamerica Ilustra catalogue of the Guadalajara Book Fair on five occasions. As a result of obtaining the first prize in the Irudika 2024 call, he completed a three-month long artistic residency at the Maison des auteurs in Angoulême (France), the Casa del author in Zapopan (Mexico) and Bilbao Arte (Euskadi). In October 2024 he will participate as a guest at the Setubal Illustration Festival (Portugal) and will hold an
individual exhibition at Galleria Mutty (Italy).
